Version 5.4 Deluxe Option Board
-------------------------------

New Information
---------------

This file contains additions made to the software after the manual had
gone to print or that may not have been referenced in earlier revisions of
the manual.

-> MCP will now support Macintosh binary file formats. This means that MCP
can properly copy a Macintosh file that is downloaded via modem on a PC.

-> In addition, MCP has a new parameter which allows you to specify the Type
and Creator when copying from a PC to a Macintosh. The syntax is: /Cxxxxxxxx
where xxxxxxxx is an eight character string; the first four characters specify
the Type and the last four specify the Creator. The string must be exactly
eight characters long and is upper/lower case sensitive. There must not be
any spaces between the /C and the xxxxxxxx characters.

Example:

/CTEXTmdos sets the Type to "TEXT" and the Creator to "mdos"
/CabcdXYZq sets the Type to "abcd" and the Creator to "XYZq"

/Cxxxxxxxx overrides any automatic determination of Type and Creator. For
example, if the IBM file extension is .SEC, the Macintosh file will be given
a Type of "DesC" and a Creator of "DesE." However, if the /C parameter is
specified, the Type and Creator will be set to the user specified values.

If either the Type or Creator fields have less than four characters, then the
entire /C parameter would need to be enclosed with double quotes. In the
following example, double quotes are necessary: MCOPY "/Cabc 1234" (as the
Type is abc with a space after abc and the Creator is 1234.)

When using the /C parameter, you will need to retain the original file name
for the MCOPY process.

-> The TCM.EXE file was changed in newer versions of the Deluxe Option board
software. If your manual's copyright date is 1988, you can contact us for
additional information regarding the new features.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PURCHASE OF THE DELUXE OPTION BOARD.
