back + low kick     = foot sweep

repeated low punch  = jab punches (low damage, fast)

Johnny Cage

Kano

Spin           = spin joystick from forward (clockwise if left
                 of opponent, counter if right of opponent) +

Knife          = block + wiggle
Head butt      = close & high punch
Fatality:        Pulls out your still beating heart.
                 Half spin + low punch, also back-forward + low
                 punch.
 
Raiden

Lightning      = quarter spin from duck to forward, low punch
Flying attack  = back, back, front
Teleport       = down, up
Fatality:        Lightning at close range blows your head off.
                 Two times forward, three times back, high

Liu Kang

Fireball       = double tap forward + high punch
Flying kick    = double tap forward + high kick
Fatality:        Cartwheel kick and uppercut
                 Spin joystick (clockwise if you're left of

Scorpion

Harpoon        = back, back, low punch
Teleport punch = quarter spin from low to back, high punch
Fatality:        Takes off mask (skull underneath), and chars
                 you to a crisp with his flame breath.
                 Block (held), up, up.  Distance about 6 feet (a
                 body-length).
 
Sub-Zero

Freezeray      = quarter spin from low to forward, low punch
Slide          = back + bottom three buttons
Fatality:        Pulls out your head and spine (really gross).
                 Quarter spin from down to forward + high punch.
                 Forward, down, forward + high punch.
                 -0 + High Punch (if left of opponent,
                 reverse if right)
 
Sonya
~~~~~
Leg throw      = crouch + bottom three buttons
Flying attack  = forward, back, high punch
Sonic rings    = back, back, low punch
Fatality:        Kiss of death.
                 Blows fireball off her palm
                 that crisps you down to a skeleton.
                 Two times forward, two times back, block.
 

STRATEGIES:

For Sonya, there are a few good combos.  Jumping when the
opponent closes in on you, then doing a high punch as you come
down, does a lot of damage.  (Actually that move is good for
anyone).  Then, doing a foot sweep followed by a leg throw (or
two) is a really good combo.  Personally I like to leg throw
everyone across the screen over and over, but usually this
doesn't work after the second time in a row, so I'll do a
flying kick at them.  Against Raiden, if you can time it
right, when he comes flying at you, block, then do a flying
attack and you'll nail him in the air.
 
Double tapping downs and backs makes moves easier.
 
Hit the guy once... easy with most.  For instance, with Sub
Zero just slide as your first move.  Then low punch high punch
low high and so forth.  He'll just sit there inching forward
and blocking.  Time runs out and you win on points
 
Actually, alternating high low works against a lot of the
computer players.  They just keep walking into it.  Adding a
freeze or whatever after a few iterations usually raps it up
(yes, this is on Version 2).
For Goro, knock him down once, and walk up to him and as soon
as he is getting up, give him at uppercut (low + any punch).
It will always knock him down (he doesn't block!)
 

