acc2*** HISTORICAL CHARTS ***
ac
c3BY ZEROX/GODS

as
c5Wouldn't it be interesting to know how the charts looked like 5-6 years
ago, when the scene was at its best as so many claim? Wouldn't it be cool
to see if the c2same sceners and productions c5were also popular so many years
ago?

In any case, this time c2D.I.S.C. c5presents some historical charts based on
the votes we received after issue 10, from Eastern 1995 till early 1996.
98% of the votes are taken from our paper votesheets, as I managed to loose
about all digital votes.

c4First Place give 4 points, Second Place 2 points and Third Place 1 point.

c6Most Popular Coders:
al
c1Dr.Skull 152 Points
Chaos 134 Points
Gengis 107 Points
Dr.Jekyll 76 Points
Mr.Hyde 64 Points
Tsunami 47 Points
Sputnik 23 Points
Merge 22 Points
Musashi 22 Points
Airwalk 16 Points
as
c5If we compare these charts with the latest issue of the c2EuroChart
c5for instance, we'll soon discover that only one of these coders
are also present at this historical chart.. and that's Chaos.
It's quite strange that he's still present at todays charts as
he hasn't released any amiga productions since Roots 2 back in
early 1995 as far as I know... I can also reveal that the coder
c2Antibyte c5who tops the EC charts, only got 1 point here in D.I.S.C.

c6Most Popular Graphician:
al
c1Ra 119 Points
Cougar 112 Points
Facet 77 Points
Fairfax 73 Points
Lazur 66 Points
Fade One 48 Points
Devilstar 34 Points
Peachy 34 Points
Made 31 Points
R.W.O. 23 Points
as
c5In issue 41 of the EuroChart Ra got ranked as 16th. And also Lazur
was present with his 4th place. In addition to that Made came second.
So it seems like quite c2many remember c5the work from these sceners. And
now and then we see something new from them too...

c6Most Popular Musician:
al
c1Jogeir 107 Points
Moby 86 Points
Jester 78 Points
Lizardking 66 Points
Heatbeat 62 Points
Chromag 58 Points
Xtd 48 Points
Dizzy 38 Points
Dreamer 29 Points
Clawz 28 Points
as
c5While Jogeir tops this chart, he was at the bottom of the last issue
of the EuroChart. Heatbeat was very close to the bottom too with his
19th place. However Xtd and c2Chromag c5are still doing good. Virgill for
instance didn't manage to be placed among the best 10 of the D.I.S.C.
charts, as he only got 21 points back then. But he's doing very well
in the charts of today...

c6Most Popular Trader:
al
c1Sting 49 Points
Mr.King 47 Points
Trasher 40 Points
Norby 32 Points
Steffen 31 Points
Pride 28 Points
Splatterhead 26 Points
Gangsta 22 Points
Watts 20 Points
Candyman 10 Points
as
c5Many voters have never understood why D.I.S.C. always have had trader
instead of swapper. But trader is after our opinion a better and more wide
category as it also includes the modem/internet traders and c2DON'T c5exclude
the ordinary swappers. Anyway, I can't locate any of the swappers of this
chart with the ones present at the latest issues of other charts around.
I think most of the best swappers around 1995 have left the
scene now...

c6Most Popular Productions:
al
c1Nexus 7 214 Points
Arte 55 Points
Motion 46 Points
Roots 2 39 Points
Love 31 Points
Full Moon 30 Points
Switchback 23 Points
Lech 22 Points
Breathtaker 19 Points
Desert Dreams 19 Points
as
c5This chart include all kind of productions. However, only demos are getting
enough votes to actually enter the top 10. c2Nexus 7 c5which smashed the
competitors 5 years ago, is still present at todays charts. Also Desert
Dreams and Arte are still being voted for. And then we have c2Hardwired c5which
seems to be more popular today than 5 years ago, as it only received 8
points for this chart! But it holds an impressive 9th place at the lastest
EC chart, 9 years after its release. I don't see anyone voting for
Odyssey...

c6Most Popular Groups:
al
c1Virtual Dreams 174 Points
Andromeda 137 Points
Sanity 117 Points
Polka Brothers 114 Points
Bomb 42 Points
TRSI 28 Points
Freezers 22 Points
Melon Design 19 Points
Spaceballs 18 Points
Essence 14 Points
as
c5Virtual Dreams, Andromeda, Polka Borthers, Bomb, Freezers, Melon Design and
Essence are all long gone from the charts. But sceners are still voting for
Sanity, and TRSI are doing well at the charts of today. Spaceballs are
active as always winning parties, but are not present at todays charts
either. Groups like Abyss and TBL which seem to be popular, only got 12 and
9 points 5 years ago.

Who knows how the c2charts c5will look like in 5 years from now?

In any case, in the next issue of D.I.S.C. we'll instead bring you some
fresh charts, so don't foget to c2VOTE!!!
